This place can easily be called Saint Barts of the North for its location and the view. Thingvellir Lakehouse is about 40-55 min. drive from Reykjavik depending on route and 20 min. to Selfoss, the nearest town. Also near Geysir and Strokkur hot springs, Gullfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, Kerid and Laugarvatn.

Thingvellir Lakehouse is right on the lake with great visibility over lake Thingvallavatn and nearby mountains.

Lake Thingvellir (known as Þingvallavatn in Icelandic) is 114 meters deep and with a surface of 84 km² it is the largest natural lake in Iceland.
