Saint Barts of the North
​Cottage by Lake Thingvellir, near Reykjavík, Þingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss
(The Golden Circle)

There are three (four) routes to come visit us.
The first one (shortest) is depicted on the map above; (road numbers are in parenthesis) This route may not be passable during winter.
  • Go onto the Ring-Road (1) East.
  • Turn left onto Hafravatnsvegur (431)    6,92 km
  • Merge onto Nesjavallaleið towards Nesjavellir (435)    20,29 km
  • Turn right onto Grafningsvegur efri (360) towards Nesjavellir    9,70 km
  • Pass Nesjavellir and continue onto a gravel road until you see a farm up on a small hill. Pass the farm.
  • Turn left passing the farm at a sign “Villingavatn”
The second route is to:
  • Go onto the Ring-Road (1) East    45-50 km
  • Turn left onto Biskupstungnabraut (35)    8,50 km
  • Turn left onto Þingvallavegur (36)    9,28 km
  • Turn left onto Grafningsvegur efri (360)    5,82 km
  • Turn right at a sign “Villingavatn”
The third route is to:
  • Go onto the Ring-Road (1) North
  • Turn right onto Þingvallavegur (36)    22,47 km
  • Turn right onto Grafningsvegur efri (360) towards Nesjavellir    20,89 km
  • Pass Nesjavellir and continue onto a gravel road until you see a farm up on a small hill. Pass the farm.
  • Turn left passing the farm at a sign “Villingavatn”
The fourth route is to start on route #2 and continue on road (36) around the lake until you get onto route #3.
